LIBF India hosts successful inaugural LIBF Connect in Mumbai, bringing together industry leaders, alumni & finance professionals

Mumbai, India – February 2025

The London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) India hosted its first-ever LIBF India Connect event at the iconic MCA in Mumbai this February.

Bringing together LIBF alumni, industry leaders, senior academicians, and finance professionals, the event celebrated LIBF India’s growing presence in the country. It focused on networking, professional development, and knowledge-sharing in the banking and finance sector.

LIBF’s Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Steve Hill, shared his thoughts:

“I was delighted to attend the inaugural LIBF India Connect alumni event. The event was brilliantly organised by colleagues at LIBF India, and it was a privilege to meet with so many LIBF alumni, industry leaders, senior academics and finance professionals. I found it particularly inspiring to hear how many attendees had started or developed their careers through studying with LIBF.”

A key highlight was a panel discussion on ‘Global trends shaping the trade finance landscape in 2025,’ where senior banking professionals shared insights on industry shifts and emerging opportunities.

Adding to the event’s significance, Sumit Mehta, Founding Director of LIBF India, launched the Alumni Ambassador Programme, inviting LIBF alumni to connect, share experiences, and shape the future of banking and finance.

Sumit remarked:

“LIBF Connect is an important step in strengthening our presence and community in India. We aim to continue this in other cities as well. Through initiatives like the Alumni Ambassador Programme, we strive to bridge the gap between industry and academia, ensuring our alumni stay engaged, share their experiences, and contribute to the future of banking and finance.”

This event marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for LIBF India –one focused on collaboration, expertise, and lifelong learning.
